Friends of West Meads Surgery
The Friends of West Meads Surgery, Patients' Group (FOWMS) was launched on the 10th may 2008.
FOWMS aims to provide resources and services for the good of the Practice population which would not otherwise be provided by Statutory Services.
- It aims to encourage a spirit of self help and support amongst patients to improve their health and well being.
- It has also been set up to improve communication between the service providers, the group, and the wider population.
- It also exists to promote a patient perspective and enable patients to access and make the best use of available health care.

Health Fair Helps to launch Friends of West Meads Surgery Group
A health fair was held in West Meads Surgery on 10th May 2008 to help launch the new patient group. The doctors and nurses offered free health screening checks to those attending and patient group representative Sandra Stevenson and other patient volunteers organised fund raising activities.
Sue Carter submitted a report about the health fair and the inaugural meeting.
